Reflect-arts, Inc. at Gallery XIV in Boston, MA invites American
artists to submit to ‘a politic’. This will be an exhibition of 2
dimensional art works in all mediums. The theme encourages the artist
to interpret the notion of politics, being political, freedom of
expression and exploring ‘a politic’ with their own personal
imagination and craft.
Open to American artists everywhere.
The exhibit will run from July 2 through August 16 at Gallery XIV, 37
Thayer Street, Boston, MA. The gallery is over 2000 sq. ft. and
centrally located in the heart of the SOWA Arts district, in Boston’s
South End. Deadline to submit: Saturday, May 3.

We Hold These Truths: America,Democracy, and Contemporary Art Exhibition

The Claypool-Young Art Gallery at Morehead State University is seeking
portfolio submissions of artwork interpreting and/or commenting on
American political culture/theme, democracy, elections, current
social/political events related to America,and U.S.
government/politicians for "We Hold These Truths: America, Democracy,
and Contemporary Art" exhibition scheduled for October 2008. All media
are accepted, including electronic/digital.
No fee. Insurance and
shipping support. Visiting artist opportunities. Submission
requirements: Portfolio of 5 - 10 digital images (300 dpi, 4 x 6”,
jpgs) representing artwork produced no later than 2000, along with
image key, artist resume, artist statement, and SASE by May 2

Evanston Art Center Exhibition: Heating Up

Heating Up is an exhibition of artists who are creating a cultural
discourse around the topics of climate change and ecosystem
degradation. The artists may use a range of methods and
media--including installations, drawings, sculpture, photography and/or
projects that involve the community. The artists in Heating Up will
challenge viewers to initiate dialogues and engage in actions that can
help heal our planet's fragile ecosystems."
